See additional information and instructions below.

Product overview. The MMC Concussion Tests concussion (or cognition) baseline test is a computerized test that takes around 30 minutes to complete and is designed for individuals 10 years of age or older.* A computer with a keyboard and steady connection to the internet are required to take the test (mobile devices/tablets cannot be used for the testing phase). This test measures an individual's ability to first REMEMBER words and symbols and then the individual's ability to RESPOND to a variety of mental challenges. Each assessment section, except for the first two memory assessments and the continuous performance assessment (which comes toward the end of the test) will have a practice period to allow the test taker to get comfortable with the format. Remember: the test taker must give his or her best effort in order to generate the most accurate baseline status results and should not leave the computer at any time during testing.

*While this testing system can establish a cognitive baseline for anyone 10 years of age or older, the “Compared to Peers” information on the baseline report is only available for those individuals aged 10 to 25 years. An “N/A” in the “Compared to Peers” column will appear in reports of individuals older than 25 (or younger than 10) and does not affect the results of the baseline status assessment (i.e., the results of the assessment would be the same with or without the “Compared to Peers” information). Please note this assessment tool is not suitable for individuals younger than 10 years of age.

Testing portal access. Upon purchase, the user will be provided with a unique access/license code via confirmation display page and confirmation email and will be directed via link to the test registration page. Follow the instructions provided on the registration page.  Make sure you have your unique access/license code handy as you will need it to register and to access the testing portal.

Access/License Code Expiration. The user has 7 days from date of purchase to take the test or re-take test before the access/license code expires. The user will be allowed 1 test re-take opportunity within 7 days of purchase ONLY if the first testing session timed out and was not completed. Those who wish to retake the test due to “invalid” results or due to a lack of real effort by the test taker must purchase a new concussion baseline test.

Results. Test results are provided immediately following completion of the test as a downloadable PDF. This PDF also contains important instructions for you to share with your healthcare professional, should you or your child suffer a head injury. Please download/save the PDF of your report immediately upon test completion. MMC Concussion Tests does not store test data. You are responsible for downloading and saving and/or printing your concussion baseline test report upon test completion. You are responsible for sharing this report with your physician should you or your child suffer a brain injury. Once you exit the testing platform, your results will no longer be retrievable, so make sure you save your report!

Invalid results. If the test taker receives “INVALID” results, this indicates that either the individual did not try his or her best or did not understand the instructions of the test. Those who receive an invalid result and wish to retake the test must purchase a new test.

Incomplete results. Those individuals who are unable to complete the test due to unavoidable circumstances (e.g., power outage, interruption in internet service) will be allowed 1 test retake within 7 days of the original purchase date using the same license code. An incomplete result means the testing timed out before all of the questions/tasks were completed. After 7 days, the license code will expire and any retest will require the purchase of a new license code.

Why take a concussion baseline test? The MMC Concussion Tests concussion baseline test is a scientifically based system that aligns to current sports concussion management guidelines and can be taken at home as part of a concussion baseline program. The results of this concussion baseline test can provide your physician with important information regarding the cognitive function of you or your child prior to head injury. This cognition test, if taken annually, can also provide a baseline measurement of cognition each year that you or your child plays sports. When used as a component of an overall concussion management program, the results of the concussion baseline test can help facilitate the medical evaluation of children and adults who may have suffered a concussion. Please note that this concussion baseline test is intended only to assess cognitive function. It is not an IQ test, and it does not diagnose concussions or mental illness. Remember: the test taker must give his or her best effort in order to generate the most accurate baseline status results and should not leave the computer at any time during testing.
